Jefferson City schools host summer library hours

Gamblin, 8, was at the school with his mom, Melissa Gamblin, a library program specialist, for the 'Books for Summer' day, one of two days this month that several elementary school libraries will be open for four hours for young students to check out books or read there. The next opportunity will be July 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Select Jefferson City Public Schools libraries will be open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 19.

Students are welcome to stop by, read for a while, and even check out a book.

Schools providing open library summer hours are East Elementary, Callaway Hills Elementary, Thorpe Gordon Elementary, West Elementary and Thomas Jefferson Middle School.
