Here are weather-related postponements, cancellations and advisories for this weekend.

 

COMMUNITY / GOVERNMENT

Callaway Senior Center, Fulton, closed Friday.

Callaway County Public Library in Fulton, the Columbia Public Library in Columbia and the Southern Boone County Public Library in Ashland will be closed Friday. Friends of Library book sales Saturday in Ashland and Columbia are canceled.

Cole County Courthouse, closed Friday.

Columbia city offices, closed Friday. Report urgent Columbia street-related issues such as power lines or downed trees to Boone County Joint Communications at 573-442-6131.

Circuit Court in Boone and Callaway counties canceled Friday court dockets. The cases will be rescheduled. 

Eldon Senior Center, Eldon, closed Friday.

First Christian Church in Jefferson City, closed Friday.

The Food Bank & Central Pantry will be closed Friday and Saturday for inclement weather. We are off on Monday for MLK Jr. Day. In Camden County, Friday's mobile pantry at Church of Osage Hills has been rescheduled to 1-3 p.m. January 20. (Source: @TheFoodBankMO)

Iberia Friendship Hall closed Friday.

Jefferson City Correctional Center has canceled visiting hours from 2:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday.  

JEFFTRAN and Jefferson City Hall will be closed Friday. City Hall and JEFFTRAN will also be closed on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Day.  Services will resume during normal business hours on Tuesday.

Jefferson City Parks and Recreation office will be closed on Friday.

Meals on Wheels, Columbia, closed Friday.

Mid-Missouri Traditional Dancers: Friday night's English Country Dance has been canceled due to weather.

Miller County Courthouse and Sheriff's Office administration offices will be closed Friday. Sheriff Gregoire and deputies will be out answering calls for service and assisting motorist when needed. They urge residents to heed the travel advisory and not travel unless absolutely necessary.

The Missouri state government hazardous travel policy has been implemented for Friday across Troop F in Mid-Missouri, including Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Camden, Cole, Cooper, Gasconade, Howard, Miller, Moniteau, Montgomery, Morgan, and Osage counties, as well as counties in many other troops across the state. Missouri River Regional Library's main branch and Osage County branch will be closed Friday.

MOstly Opera's Juke Box Gala, originally scheduled for Jan. 14, has been rescheduled for 6:30-9:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at Prison Brews Side Bar.

Russellville Beta Trivia Night, originally scheduled for Jan. 15, has been rescheduled for 5-7 p.m. Jan. 29 at St. Michael's Church in Russellville.

Capital Mall Trade Days, originally scheduled for Jan. 14-15, rescheduled to Jan. 21-22.

Capital Region/Sam B. Cook Healthplex: Group fitness classes and cardiac rehab are canceled Friday. Pediatric therapy services are closed Friday. Healthplex will be closed Saturday. The Les Mills Launch scheduled for Saturday and Sunday has been postponed until the following weekend.

Capital Region Physicians Clinics at Owensville, Linn, Eldon, Versailles, Vienna, Holts Summit and California are closed Friday.

Capital Region Physicians Clinics located at multiple locations in Jefferson City are now closed for the rest of Friday. Capital Care Pharmacy is now closed for the rest of Friday. Capital Region Physicians Downtown Urgent Care, Edgewood Urgent Care and Quick Care at Hy-Vee will close at noon Friday.

WEATHER ADVISORY

The National Weather Service has issued an Ice Storm Warning in effect now until noon Sunday for much of Missouri.

Freezing rain will overspread the area Friday morning from south to north. Significant icing is expected to occur Friday morning through Sunday morning. Accumulations are expected between 1/4 and 1/2 inch of ice.

The wintry precipitation will likely result in hazardous travel conditions, especially on bridges, overpasses and untreated roads. Parking lots and sidewalks may become slippery as well. Damage to trees and power lines also is possible.

Columbia College, closed Friday.

Lincoln University offices will be closed Friday. As a result of Friday's campus closure, registration will end on Tuesday, January 17 at the close of business. Late registration will be January 18 through January 20 with the $75 fee assessed. Board of Curators Conference Call scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday is canceled. University of Missouri, Columbia: MU officials have announced a full closure of the Columbia campus on Friday, Jan. 13. Only employees who are situationally critical will report for work.
