One person was injured after a one-vehicle wreck early Saturday morning on Route A, just east of Valley Home Road, in Cole County.
The crash occurred at 2:20 a.m. as Charles P. Russell, 23, of Eugene, was driving his 1988 Chevrolet pickup eastbound on Route A. The Missouri Highway Patrol reported Russell crested a hill and lost control, skidded off the right side of the roadway, struck several small trees, continued eastbound off the roadway, then struck a utility pole.
The vehicle traveled through a residential yard, skidded to the north, struck a mailbox, re-entered Route A, then crossed the roadway, struck a fence and came to rest facing north.
Russell sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City.
