Holts Summit man arrested after burglaries

A Holts Summit man has been taken into custody after allegedly stealing items from two properties near Tebbetts. After a search aided by local property owners, Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Alexander Campbell, 24.

On Thursday, an intruder entered a property in the 6000 block of County Road 480. Items were removed from an enclosed garage and several vehicles. Deputies were informed at about 9:20 a.m. and investigated.

Later, at 12:35 p.m., there was another call to the 5000 block of the same road. A male intruder was at a farm property when the property owner arrived. He fled on foot upon being confronted, and the property owner realized that items were missing.

A number of Sheriff's Office deputies arrived and other local property owners were alerted. Within half an hour, Campbell was located on County Road 481 and arrested.

Friday, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Campbell with felony burglary. As of Saturday, Campbell was being held at the Callaway County Jail on a $40,000 bond.
