A Fulton woman was arrested Friday on drug-related charges after leading law enforcement on a brief car chase through Fulton.

Wendy A. Atterberry, 42, was spotted by Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputies at about 11:30 a.m. after driving past a red light, Lt. Curtis Hall stated. When deputies attempted to pull her vehicle over, she continued driving for several blocks and finally halted near the courthouse.

Upon searching the vehicle, deputies uncovered drug paraphernalia and what appeared to be methamphetamine and heroin, Hall stated.

Atterberry was arrested for failing to obey a traffic control device, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle using its emergency lights and siren, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

She is currently being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond, Hall stated. Further arrests and charges may be forthcoming, and the Fulton Police Department is aiding the investigation.
