Accidents leave 2 men with injuries

Two Mid-Missouri accidents Tuesday left two men with injuries - one of whom also faces criminal charges.

Ralph Imler, 50, of Rocky Mount, was driving westbound on Route W at 2:26 p.m. in Miller County when his 1999 Dodge Durango SUV drove off the right side of the road and struck a tree about a quarter-mile south of Home Place Road.

Imler was not wearing a seat belt and sustained moderate injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. The Durango was totaled, and Imler did not have insurance.

A separate Highway Patrol report from 3:02 p.m. Tuesday in Miller County shows Imler was arrested on charges of DWI (prior offender), careless and imprudent driving involving a crash, no insurance and no seat belt. He was released for his medical treatment.

At 7:21 p.m. in Callaway County, Beric Fischer, 31, of Montgomery City, was behind the wheel going eastbound on Route B when the 1996 Mercury Cougar he was driving traveled off the right side of the road at County Road 1011.

The Cougar crossed the county road, ran off the north side of the roadway and struck a post.

Fischer was not wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries, but refused treatment at the scene. He did not have insurance, and the Cougar was extensively damaged.
