JC man fined in 2016 crash

A Jefferson City man charged in an April 2016 auto crash pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DWI and was ordered to pay a $500 fine.

Eugene Fults, 26, originally was also charged with second-degree assault and driving while suspended.

Fults and three other people were treated for moderate injuries when the vehicle Fults was driving struck a parked vehicle in the 500 block of East Dunklin Street.

The investigation revealed Fults was traveling east on East Dunklin Street, and as he approached Jackson Street, he lost control and crossed the road, striking an unoccupied vehicle parked on the north side of the road.

No one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt. The passengers were knocked unconscious.

Witnesses and victims stated Fults was driving at a high speed when he lost control and crashed.

Fults has two previous convictions for driving while suspended and two convictions for no operator’s license.
