Belle man arrested in fraud investigation

A Belle man has been arrested and charged with three felony fraud counts after members of the Maries County Sheriff's Office and Belle Police Department executed a search warrant Thursday on Apple Avenue in Belle.

Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman said members of his office had been investigating a fraud case involving a business in Belle for several days.

During the course of the search Thursday, "deputies recovered several items and firearms that were obtained illegally. It is alleged that over $14,000 was defrauded from the local business and over 100 fraudulent transactions were made."

Kyle J. Ridenhour, 30, of Belle, was charged by the Maries County prosecutor with three felony counts of fraudulent use of a credit device.

As of Friday evening, Ridenhour remained in the Maries County Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond.

Heitman said additional charges likely will be filed out of several other counties.
