Downtown Jefferson City celebrated the holiday season Friday with a variety of Christmas festivities, including the annual Living Windows event. Thousands attended the pre-Christmas event where storefronts came alive with holiday themes featuring ballerinas, artists and musicians.

Also Friday, the Governor's Mansion was open for candlelight tours following the ceremonial lighting of the Governor's Christmas Tree, and First Presbyterian Church sponsored a Living Nativity Scene complete with donkeys.

Santa and Mrs. Claus were also in attendance at the downtown festivities, and carriage rides were available for patrons.
