Governor makes several board, commission appointments

Gov. Eric Greitens announced several appointments Wednesday to state boards and commissions.

In most cases, the appointees can begin serving immediately because the Legislature is not in session, but ultimately, they must be confirmed by the Missouri Senate in January.

Greitens' appointments included:

State Board of Education

Claudia Oate Greim, of Kansas City, who currently is a compliance counsel for Lockton Companies in Kansas City and also serves on the Kansas City Public Library Board of Trustees.

She earned her bachelor's degree from Stanford University and her law degree from Harvard Law School.

Doug Russell, of Lebanon, president of Durham Company, which specializes in the design, manufacturing and sales of products for electrical utilities.

Russell earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Coordinating Board for Higher Education

Carl Bolm, founder and owner of Investa Management and member of several St. Louis area agencies' and companies' boards of directors.

Bobby Robertson, CEO of Omnigo Software and chairman of HEALTHCAREFirst Inc.'s board of directors.

He holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Louisiana Tech University.

Shawn Saale, a partner at Saale & Bailey, LC, specializing in estate law, business succession planning and charitable giving.

He earned his bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Tourism Commission

David Corley, director at JTL Enterprises Inc.

He earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice administration from Columbia College.

Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board

Courtney Kovachevich, a nurse at Barnes Jewish Hospital's Cardio Surgery unit, who previously worked as a NICU (Natal Intensive Care Unit) staff nurse at St. Louis' Mercy Hospital.

She holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Barnes-Jewish College's Goldfarb School of Nursing and currently is pursuing a doctorate degree at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville to become a family nurse practitioner.

Donna Jo Neely, executive office administrator for Missouri KidsFirst since 2009 and an active member of the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce and the Callaway County Relay for Life.

Allie Chang Ray, principal and independent consultant of Mutare Network LLC and an adjunct instructor in Washington University's Brown School of Social Work.

Ray holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Missouri Gaming Commission

Daniel Finney III, principal attorney at the Daniel P. Finney III Law Office, also serves as a board member of Birdies for Bipolar, a charitable organization dedicated to raising awareness and support for those suffering from mental illness, and their families.

Finney holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Montana and a law degree from Saint Louis University Law School.

Public School Retirement System of Missouri, Board of Trustees

Beth Knes, former executive director of Student Services for Rockwood School District, St. Louis County.

She holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Washington University, St. Louis, and a master's degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University.

Safe Drinking Water Commission

Fred Schmidt, president of FWS Land Strategies, a real estate brokerage, investment and consulting company.

He holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Maryville University, St. Louis County.
