Special screening of 'Vietnam' tonight at LU

The public is invited to a special screening of part of the new PBS documentary, "The Vietnam War," tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Lincoln University's Pawley Theater on the main floor of Martin Luther King Hall in Jefferson City.

As the network describes it, "Ken Burns and Lynn Novick's 10-part, 18-hour documentary series tells the epic story of one of the most consequential, divisive, and controversial events in American history as it has never before been told on film."

KMOS-TV, a PBS station, is sponsoring tonight's' event, which includes the special screening followed by a panel discussion, about 7:45 p.m., with a group of Vietnam veterans from the Jefferson City area.

People can register in advance to guarantee a seat , but KMOS said registration isn't required for the program.
