Missouri couple aligns wedding day with solar eclipse

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- A Missouri couple will be sharing their wedding day with next week's solar eclipse.

The Columbia Missourian reports that Liz Tummons and Fabio Gallazzi will marry a few hours before the actual eclipse Monday in Blackwater.

The couple says choosing the day of the eclipse for their wedding will help make it more memorable and give guests something else special to witness.

Tummons says trying to time the wedding to the actual event would be too stressful.

Monday's eclipse will be the first total solar eclipse visible in the contiguous U.S. since 1979. As of last week, Boone County records show that four marriage licenses have been issued for Monday.
