Lightning striking a power line led to more than 500 Ameren Missouri customers losing power Wednesday morning.

Company officials said the line was on U.S. 50, near the Bolivar Street overpass.

The strike occurred just after 10 a.m. The area affected included parts of West Main Street and West High Street as well as Industrial Boulevard, according to a company outage map.

Crews were on the scene not long after the strike occurred, and power was fully restored around noon.

More storms rolled through Mid-Missouri on Wednesday afternoon, which led to more power outages.

Trees fell onto power lines on High Point Road near Elston and on Lookout Trail just north of Nine Hills Road around 2:30 p.m., Ameren officials said. Crews were dispatched, and service was restored by late afternoon.
