Dryer triggers home fire

No injuries were reported after a dryer caught fire at a Jefferson City home Saturday afternoon.

According to fire department reports, crews were called at 4:38 p.m. to go to a home in the 2800 block of Kenborg Hills Road for a report of smoke inside the structure. 

On arrival, personnel found heavy smoke in the basement of the house. Fire crews entered the structure and found a dryer and its contents had caught on fire. The fire was extinguished and the dryer was removed from the house. There was no damage to the structure, and no residents were displaced.
