Blair Oaks names 2017 prom court

Blair Oaks High School held its prom Saturday at Capital Ritz in Jefferson City, with the theme "A Touch of Class."

The coronation of prom royalty followed a grand march of the 2017 seniors, with Paige Strope named prom queen and Ben Wibberg named prom king.

The following students were named to the prom court:

Sarah Casey is the daughter of Christy and Todd Casey, of Wardsville. Her activities include the dance team, National Honor Society, and numerous community musicals and voice competitions. She plans to attend State Fair Community College to obtain an AFA in music, then transfer to University of Central Missouri to pursue a degree in music education.

Breanna Owens is the daughter of Christina Brown and Donald Owens, of Taos. Her activities include National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars and the dance team. She plans to attend State Fair Community College to pursue a degree in nursing.

Destynie Sanders is the daughter of Shelly-Ann Berth and David Sanders, of Wardsville. Her activities include the Blair Oaks and Youth Praise dance troupes, drama club, 2016 AKA Miss Fashionetta Debutante, Second Baptist Youth Mission president, Delta G.E.M. and FLCN. She plans to attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City to pursue a degree in sociology.

Paige Strope is the daughter of Kristy and Gary Strope, of Taos. She enjoys spending time with friends and family and any outdoor activities. She plans to attend State Technical College of Missouri to obtain a degree in business then attend Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology.

Caleb Bruemmer is the son of Randy and Rhonda Bruemmer, of Wardsville. His activities include FBLA, National Honor Society, Operation Bugle Boy, Student Council, FCCLA and ASL. He is also senior class treasurer and is involved in a variety of service opportunities through his church, St. Stanislaus, and his work at Heisinger Bluffs. He plans to attend Truman State University to pursue a degree in business administration.

Ben Forck is the son of John and Laurie Forck, of Taos. His activities include varsity cross country and varsity track, National Honor Society and Spanish Club. He plans to attend the Missouri University of Science & Technology to pursue a degree in electrical engineering.

Chris Parmley is the son of Drew and Kim Parmley, of Wardsville. His activities include varsity cross country, track and field, National Honor Society, Spanish Club and Student Council. He plans to attend the University of Missouri.

Ben Wibberg is the son of Bernie and Tina Wibberg, of Taos. His activities include welding, riding four-wheelers, hunting, fishing, working on his truck and farming. He earned the honor of MO SkillsUSA 2017 Top Welder. He plans to attend Missouri Welding Institute to pursue a degree in master structural welding and fitting.
