The Callaway County Democratic Club will not meet in October. Instead of the bimonthly meeting, the club encourages the public to attend the Democratic Central Committee Rally on Oct. 7 and a candidate forum on Oct. 18.
The Democratic Central Committee Rally will be at Meadow Lake County Club. Gov. Roger Wilson will be the guest speaker. A reception will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the program at 7:30 p.m.. Tickets are $25. To purchase tickets, contact Mike Backer at 573-619-8173.
A bipartisan candidate forum will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at Fulton City Hall in the City Council chambers. The event is sponsored by the Republican and Democratic Committeewoman of Calwood, Lori Twillman and Kathy Richey Liddle. The following candidates have been invited to participate: candidates for Eastern District commissioner Larry Doyle Jr. and Randall Kleindienst; candidates for Western District commissioner Roger Fischer and Steve Moore; candidates for Callaway County sheriff Clay Chism and M.J. Eberhart; and candidates for District 43 state representative, Jay D. Houghton and Ed Lockwood.
