Farm accident leaves one dead, one injured

One person is dead and another is seriously injured due to a farming accident in Callaway County Friday evening.

According to a press release from the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened at 6:46 p.m. on the 1900 block of County Road 231 in the northwest part of the county.

Stephen Fink, 45, of Macon was delivering liquid based cattle feed product to the farm. While unloading, an explosion occurred, causing the structure to collapse.

When responders arrived, Fink was found under the rubble, and later died at the scene. Another victim was injured and flown by helicopter ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia. The injured victim is expected to survive.

The cause of the explosion was not confirmed by law officials, however, they have found no evidence of foul play or criminal activity.
