Firefighters called to Cole County Jail

Jefferson City firefighters responded to a report of fire at the Cole County Jail around 10:05 a.m.

They investigated the heating and cooling system as the source of smoke at the facility. No one was hurt and no one was evacuated.

Adams Street was blocked off between East McCarty and East High streets during the investigation, but firefighters have since cleared the scene.
