A 13-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle Monday morning in Jefferson City.
Police Department reports show the accident occurred just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of East High and Cherry streets.
A vehicle driven by Evita Essex, 35, of Jefferson City, was going east when she struck the girl while crossing the intersection going south.
The girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, which were described as moderate.
Essex was unhurt and not wearing a seat belt.
