Loose Creek residents hurt in car accident

Two Loose Creek residents were hurt in a one-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Cole County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the crash occurred at 4:15 p.m. on U.S. 50 eastbound at Lisletown Road.

Mark Backes, 66, was attempting to navigate a lane change and lost control of his vehicle. He went off the right side of the road, overcorrected, got back on the road, then went off the left side of the road and overturned.

He was treated for serious injuries and his passenger, Tetyana Backes, 58, was treated for moderate injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.
