Fleeing from the cops ends with charges

Jerrix Durham, 30, is charged with second-degree burglary, resisting arrest, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, receiving stolen property and unlawful use of a firearm.

According to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement, the incident occurred just after noon in the 1000 block of West McCarty Street.

Durham displayed a firearm and made threatening statements to a female, then left the scene and fled from officers during a traffic stop just after the incident.

He fled to the 1000 block of West High Street where he went unlawfully into a residence. There he kicked and cursed at officers who were attempting to take him into custody.

A stolen gun with 34 rounds of ammunition were recovered in Durham's vehicle.

Durham has a revoked operator's license until 2017 due to point revocation.

He has pleaded guilty to felonies of driving while revoked and resisting arrest in Cole County in 2016.
