Shock detention for selling pot

A Jefferson City man pleaded guilty to an amended charge in connection with the sale of marijuana in April 2014.

Cedric Riley, 30, of 5201 Collier Court, had been charged with selling the drug on two different occasions to a confidential informant.

He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana.

He was sentenced to 120 days shock detention with credit for time served.

Court records showed Riley was considered a persistent drug offender with three prior felony drug convictions in October 2010 for one count of second-degree drug trafficking and two counts of distribution of controlled substances.
