Walk-in clinic to open in Fulton

SSM Health Medical Group will open its new Fulton walk-in clinic May 24, according to Janet Wear-Enloe, director of Business Development and Marketing.

The new family medicine practice will include a physician, Dr. Kimetha Fairchild, and a nurse practicioner, Wear-Enloe said Wednesday.

"People will be able to make appointments for a more traditional practice, and there will be a walk-in clinic," she said, adding the clinic will serve those with minor injuries and ailments.

Interested people also may come to the clinic's open house, which will be 4-6 p.m. May 23, Wear-Enloe added. Light refreshments will be served.

The clinic is at 350 Country Meadows Drive, Fulton, and hours will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

"Hopefully, we'll grow into weekend hours," she said.

Bruce Hackmann, president of the Fulton Area Development Corp., said residents of this part of Missouri benefit from excellent medical care options.

"One thing people in Callaway County and Mid-Missouri have come to expect is we have some of the best health care in the state," he said. "People in the region are very fortunate to have the quality of health care options that we have."

Regionally, SSM Health Medical Group operates hospitals in Jefferson City and Mexico, Audrain County, with clinics along the U.S. 54 corridor and elsewhere, according to Wear-Enloe. SSM Health is based in St. Louis and is the ninth-largest, nonprofit health system in the country with facilities in Wisconsin, Illinois, Oklahoma and Missouri.
