A Jefferson City man was injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

A report of a rollover crash came in at 10:47 a.m., according to police reports.

Emergency personnel responded to the 2000 block of U.S. 54 and located a vehicle facing south in the median. The driver was identified as Daniel Basler, 71, of Jefferson City.

The crash also involved a tractor-trailer that had stopped farther south on U.S. 54 near the ramp to Missouri 179. That vehicle was driven by Gary Williams, 61, of Conway, Arkansas.

The investigation revealed Basler was traveling south on U.S. 54 in the passing lane and Williams was traveling south in the driving lane.

Evidence at the scene indicated Basler's vehicle left the roadway and was spinning counter-clockwise as it slid into the median. He then struck a concrete drain in the median, causing the vehicle to overturn, but coming to rest right side up.

Basler was extracted from his vehicle and taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of moderate injuries, police report.

Williams had no reported injuries.

Basler was not wearing a seat belt. Williams was wearing one.
