St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary will host the 59th annual Ice Cream Social on June 15 at St. Joseph Cathedral Undercroft in Jefferson City.
The event is from 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m., covering lunch and dinner for dine-in or carry-out. St. Mary's staff and volunteers will dish up generous servings of homemade cake topped with Central Dairy ice cream. Grilled bratwursts, chicken breasts, hamburgers, hot dogs and tossed salads will be served a la carte, along with side dishes and drinks.
Special features throughout the day include:
Booths including Country Store, Treasures From the Attic, and Book Nook
A Silent Auction, including themed gift baskets
A $5 jewelry sale
A raffle for a hand-crafted quilt by the Auxiliary's Busy Fingers Quilters
A Kids' Korner where youngsters can enjoy face painting and a fish pond
And new this year is Stuff-A-Critter, where children can choose from a variety of stuffed animals and accessories for $15/animal and $10/outfit.
"This is a perfect time to share some fun with friends and family," says event chair Teresa Tolksdorf. "Come and enjoy a summer afternoon tradition with great food, ice cream and cake, while helping to support a very worthy cause."
Proceeds benefit patient care services at SSM Health St. Mary's HospitalJefferson City.
St. Joseph Cathedral is located at 2215 W. Main St. The entrance to the undercroft is in the rear of the church building.
