An escapee from a federal half-way house in Farmington has been caught in Osage County.

The Osage County Emergency Operations Center posted on Facebook that Jason Biermann, 35, had been taken into custody after Osage County deputies responded to a 911 call at 11:30 a.m. Sunday to an area off of County Road 621 where Biermann was apprehended and taken to the Osage County Jail.

Biermann had last been seen in southwestern Linn near Lee Street City Park.

The search for Biermann prompted officials on Friday to lock down three schools with summer classes - Linn Elementary and the R-2 District offices next door, St. George Catholic School and the State Technical College of Missouri.

A number of businesses in the area also locked their doors Friday.

The search had been a cooperative effort involving the U.S. Marshal's Service, the Missouri Highway Patrol, the Osage County Sheriff and Linn Police Department.

In addition to sending some troopers, the Patrol contributed a canine officer and an aircraft to help in the search.

Biermann was being held at the RRC Farmington half-way house, a federal facility in Farmington.

Details as to how Biermann walked away from federal custody have not been provided.

Biermann served time in the state prison system a decade ago, but he was discharged from the Probation and Parole division's supervision in April 2005.

He is not listed as a registered sex offender.
