Local man charged after endangered person search

A Jefferson City man is facing criminal charges after an endangered person advisory was issued for the victim.
Kelly Clark, 30, of Jefferson City, was speaking to a family member by phone Tuesday when the family member overheard an assault against Clark take place. Clark was in the presence of Jimmie Johnson, 47, of Jefferson City, with whom she was in a relationship.
Attempts were made to track down Johnson, and Clark's vehicle was located in the 200 block of East Ashley Street. An examination of the vehicle revealed blood, but neither Clark nor Johnson were there, prompting the endangered person report.
Around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Police Department received a phone call from Clark's mother stating she received information Clark and Johnson were at a residence in the 900 block of Jefferson Street.
Officers responded to the residence where they located Clark on the front porch and Johnson inside the apartment. Johnson was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson City Police Department.
Clark had injuries to her face consistent with being assaulted. She refused to give a statement to the officers on the scene and refused to come to the Police Department to speak to a detective.
Johnson was arrested for third-degree domestic assault and felonious restraint.
