Mid-Mo meeting, tax levy public hearing set for Aug. 17

The Mid-Mo Ambulance Board of Directors set the regular meeting and the public hearing to set the tax levy rate for Aug. 17 at the Tipton District office. The tax levy rate hearing, at 6 p.m., will precede the regular meeting, which will be at 7 p.m.
Administrator Lee Kempf, at the regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 13, reported that at the new Mid-Mo Ambulance base in California, the floor of the garage and living quarters have been poured. In addition, the floor of the living quarters have been sawed to appear to be foot-square tiles. The cuts will, when completed, make the floor appear to be floored in diamond tiles. Since the saw cuts had to be shallow in the six-inch thick concrete to prevent damage to the impeded heat piping. Since the design of the building was changed from three levels to two, Kempf will discuss the needed change in the step or steps from the garage to the living quarters with the contractor. Instead of two separated seven-inch steps in different parts of the building, there will be a 14-inch difference in height. The board wants as much done as possible to prevent injury to the district personnel and visitors due to step heights and widths. The building is being constructed just south of the south city limits of California on the east side of Highway 87. It is on Hartley Dr.
In other business, the June treasurer's report balance on hand was $524,063.40.
