Some Lincoln University students were relocated after their dorm flooded Sunday night.

University staff were alerted at approximately 10 p.m. to flooding in Dawson Hall, school officials said.

Maintenance crews shut off water service to the building, which also affects heating of that facility. As a result of the flooding and lack of heating, the resident advisors and eight students in the hall for the Christmas break were moved to open spaces in other residential halls.

As of Monday afternoon, an exact cause for the flooding had not been determined, and damage estimates were unavailable.

Residential students who have left for the break and new students will return to campus beginning Jan. 12. The spring semester begins Jan. 17.
