Jefferson City man guilty in 2015 fatal wreck

A Jefferson City man was found guilty on charges in connection with a fatal motor vehicle crash in Maries County in May 2015.

Keith Jones, 51, was found guilty on charges of second-degree involuntary manslaughter and second-degree assault, according to the Maries County Sheriff's Department.

The case was moved to Phelps County on a change of venue. Sentencing will be at a later date.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the crash occurred on U.S. 63 in Vichy.

Jones crossed the center line of the road and went off onto the left shoulder. There he struck a vehicle driven by David Connor, 79, of Holts Summit. Connor had stopped on the shoulder in an attempt to avoid Jones.

Connor was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Gladys Connor, 72, of Holts Summit, was treated for serious injuries.
