Structure fire caused $10K in damage

A structure fire Thursday afternoon in Cole County caused an estimated $10,000 in damage.

The fire at 3709 Rockridge Road was called in at 12:53 p.m., according to reports from the Cole County Fire Protection District.

The owner of the structure was working in his shop at the time, and the fire started while he was using a grinder.

The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes. There was fire and smoke damage to the interior of the structure. No injuries were reported.
