Selling heroin leads to 5 years in prison

A Jefferson City man has been sentenced to five years in prison for pleading guilty to an amended charge in a drug case from 2015.

Nicolin Moore, 40, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance. He had been charged with two counts of selling heroin.

Court documents show Moore told authorities he was robbed at gunpoint by two people after offering them a ride to a store.

Once in the vehicle, the robbers pointed a gun at Moore and said, "Don't take this to a murder." They took more than $60 in cash and Moore's cellphone from a console, then exited the vehicle.

Moore tried to grab the gun, but the two robbers fled on foot from the scene.

When questioned, one of the robbers said he wanted to confront Moore about narcotics he was owed. Court records show Moore is believed to have sold heroin twice in September 2015 to a confidential informant.
