JC man gets probation for robbery

A Jefferson City man was placed on five years supervised probation in connection with an armed robbery in June.

Xavies Parks, 20, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of second-degree robbery.

He had been charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.

According to police reports, officers responded to the 200 block of North Ventura in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The reporting person stated Parks and two other person entered the residence and ordered the occupants to the floor.

The suspects were armed with handguns.

One of the victims was able to identify the suspects, and officers located Parks and the others in a nearby residence.

Two handguns used during the robbery were recovered, a 9mm handgun and a .22-caliber handgun.

Court documents show one of the suspects that accompanied Parks had been invited over to the residence for a drug deal.

Parks joined the other two men and they eventually displayed guns ordering the victims to give them everything they had.
