Two people were treated for serious injuries after a two vehicle crash Friday morning in Jefferson City.
Police reports show the crash occurred at approximately 7:22 a.m. in the 5500 block of US 50 East.
The investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Kyle Edwards, 21, Jefferson City, was traveling in the eastbound lanes and attempted to change lanes. His vehicle went out of control and struck an unknown semi truck. He then crossed the center median and went into the westbound lanes where he was struck head on by a westbound vehicle driven by Travis Henke, 18, Jefferson City.
Both drivers were transported by ambulance from the scene and neither were wearing their seat belts.

U.S. 50/63 at North Shamrock Road in eastern Jefferson City re-opened shortly after 9 a.m. today following temporary closure of the westbound lanes due to a traffic accident.

Authorities closed the westbound lanes of U.S. 50/63 at the North Shamrock Road crossover in eastern Jefferson City shortly before 7:30 a.m. today due to an injury accident.
Initial reports are that two vehicles were involved, one of which rolled over.
Motorists are urged to find an alternate route while emergency personnel work the scene of the crash.
