CCP adds 4 encore performances after ‘Mamma Mia!’ sells out

Capital City Productions has sold out of its regularly scheduled dinner theater productions of “Mamma Mia!,” but has added four encore, show-only performances to its schedule in June.

In addition to its sold-out dinner theater productions June 5-7, 13-15 and 20-22, Capital City Productions has added show-only presentations of “Mamma Mia!” at 1 p.m. June 9 and 7:30 p.m. June 12, June 19 and June 28.

The beloved Broadway musical “Mamma Mia!”, which was written by Catherine Johnson and songs of ABBA composed by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, tells the story of a mother, her daughter’s search for her birth father and the two preparing for the daughter’s upcoming wedding on a Greek isle. When the daughter’s three possible dads show up to the event, it creates a hilarious, chaotic and heartfelt “trip down the aisle” audiences will soon not forget, the Capital City Productions’ website said.

The story is told through international pop sensation ABBA’s timeless songs, including “Dancing Queen,” “Money, Money, Money,” “The Name of the Game” and title song “Mamma Mia!,” that truly creates a party environment and helps deliver an enchanting tale of laughter, love and friendship, the website said.

As at “Mammia Mia!” performances, the encore performances will provide an opportunity for guests to support the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team Purpler Riot as part of Capital City Productions’ 3-year-old Pay It Forward program. Purple envelopes will be available at each table and 100 percent of funds collected will support this cause.

No dinner will be served at the encore performances, but guests are invited to bring their own ABBA-inspired beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Tickets are $25 per person and no paper-tickets are issued. Tickets are placed on the seating chart in the order they are purchased. Upon arrival at the theatre, located at 1200 Linden Drive, check-in by last name at the reception podium for table and seat placement.
