For the last seven decades, the Belle Fair has provided those in attendance with the food, fun and music any fair could possibly offer, but this year, the fair's offering a lot more than in years past.

According to Belle Fair board member, Sundi Jo Graham, this year's fair - with an "Oh, the Places You'll Go" theme - offers some changes and additions.

This year's lineup - which includes the usual parade, multiple tractor pulls, greased pig contest and cook-off - will have multiple new music acts, menu changes and a beer garden.

Graham said she's most excited about the change in music acts this year.

"I think it'll bring a different crowd on top of the current crowd we already have," she said.

Graham said the festival normally hires one well-known country act to headline the fair, but this year's fair includes multiple headlining music acts, including the Cherry Pistols and Resurrection - a Journey Tribute.

The Cherry Pistols, who will take the stage at 8 p.m. July 20, are a band based in Mid-Missouri that, according to the event's Facebook page, covers songs predominately from the '80s and '90s. The event lists specific covers of acts like Prince, Journey and Maroon 5.

Resurrection - a Journey Tribute band is based out of Nashville, Tennessee, and, according to their website, they are the "gold standard" by which Journey tribute bands are measured. Graham also stated she thinks Ryan Christopher, the band's lead singer, sounds "just like" Journey's original frontman, Steve Perry.

On top of the change in music acts, the Belle Community Betterment Association will be hosting a beer garden at this year's festival.

Lastly, the fair is offering a change in menu from year's and will have specials every night of the fair starting at 5 p.m. These specials include pork tenderloin sandwiches, boneless wings, barbecue ribs and grilled barbecue pork steaks. The everyday menu will include hand-cut fries, fish sandwiches and cheeseburgers.

This year's fair begins with a parade at 6 p.m. Wednesday and lasts until July 21.
