Starting today, Capital City Productions will be presenting "Boeing Boeing," a dinner theater production with Argyle Catering.

The play will be a new translation of the fast-paced comedy featuring a handsome pilot, Bernard, with three stewardess fiancés from around the globe who are unbeknownst to one another. The tables quickly turn for Bernard when the new Boeing jet brings all three woman to town on the same night.

"One thing about doing a comedy this big is that nobody is this big in reality, right? So everybody sort of brings their own unique pieces to the character," said Laini Vansant, who is directing the play while she's also earning her PhD in theater at University of Missouri.

Luckily, Bernard gets help at his Paris apartment by his French maid and his best friend, Robert, who is visiting from Wisconsin. However, the task becomes quite daunting as his fiancés from Italy, Germany and Texas prove to be sweet, yet fierce.

"It's an interesting evolution for Barnard because at the beginning he's very cocky and suave and smooth, and that's because he's never really had to experience turmoil with these relationships and as you can imagine with them all being in the same city at the same time. Turmoil runs amuck," said Steven Kretzner, who is playing Bernard. "With a show like this, with the speed and the timing, no show is ever going to be the same exact show as the previous one which is some of the thrill and excitement of live theater."

Evening shows are available Thursday, Friday and Saturday, through April 28. Doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. and show starting at 7:30 p.m. Matinee performances are also offered Saturday and April 21, with dinner served at noon before the show begins at 1 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the Capital City Productions website at capitalcityproductions.org.
