Country music legend Dwight Yoakam will open the 2017 season on Memorial Day weekend at Ozarks Amphitheater in Camdenton.

The versatile Yoakam is a country music fan favorite as a singer, songwriter and film actor, according to a news release detailing the Lake of the Ozarks-based amphitheater's announcement of initial acts this summer.

His most recent album, "Swimmin' Pools, Movie Stars," adds bluegrass to his repertoire, and audiences can enjoy an array of his new music and classic tunes during his performance May 28.

Opening the show is Frankie Ballard, best known for his "Sunshine and Whiskey" album featuring "Young and Crazy."

The initial lineup includes Get the Led Out, who will perform Aug. 26 during the weekend of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, the largest unsanctioned boat race in the United States. Get the Led Out is dubbed as "The American Led Zeppelin," with a strong focus on the band's early years and playing many of Zeppelin's big hits, according to Ozarks Amphitheater's website.

Acclaimed recording artist Aaron Tippin will perform Sept. 23 in conjunction with the annual Lake of the Ozarks Air Show in Camdenton. Tippin is known as the "hardest workin' man in country music," and he'll bring his blue collar and patriotic-themed music to Ozarks Amphitheater during this fall concert, according to the website.

"We are excited to bring these internationally known headline acts to Ozarks Amphitheater and to showcase this magnificent venue," Bill Carle, owner of Ozarks Amphitheater, said in the news release. "We have a somewhat hidden gem here in the rolling hills of the Ozarks. It is a great venue to visit as part of a long weekend at the lake. Our goal is to become the premier summer music venue in Central Missouri."
