The 18th annual Bittersweet Garden Club Garden Tour will be held, rain or shine, 12:30-5 p.m. June 25.

Five Jefferson City area gardens will be featured, with fresh ideas and techniques for visitors to enhance their own gardens.

The fundraiser supports the club's scholarships for local students.

The "Small Splashes of Color" garden features a family-oriented setting, where gravois rock and local boulders provide a hardscape backdrop for every-season color, contrast and texture.

The "Peaceful Garden" showcases a well-manicured green retreat filled with shade-lovers and park-like accents.

"A Man's Serene Garden Retreat" features mature shrubs and trees, as well as hidden paths and a dry creek bed to accent the wildflowers.

A former rocky pasture has been transformed into the "Berms and Beds" garden, including berms, cutting beds, bee and butterfly gardens and a raised vegetable bed.

Inside the "Scavenged, Bartered, Shared, Found" garden, views in this tidy yard of perennials, grasses, shrubs, evergreens and architectural details are accented by rolling countryside views.

Tickets are $10 for ages 12 and up. They are available in advance at Amie B. and The Orchid Emporium, Busch's Florist and Greenhouse, D and D Main Street Market, Gardens to Go, Green Horizons Garden Center, Hy-Vee Supermarket, Longfellow's Garden Center and Samuel's Tuxedos and Gifts.
