JC Art Club hosting 2 local art exhibits this summer

From amazing local wildlife to happy family moments captured on canvas, the Jefferson City Art Club has two public displays of members' art this summer.

The nonprofit organization's current featured artist, Renee Hackman, has her pieces displayed at the Jefferson City Department of Motor Vehicles, 1617 Southridge Drive, according to information provided by club member Jimmy Mustion. The public can view Hackman's artwork 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, through Aug. 14.

The next featured artist is Steven Wilson, who will have his art displayed Aug. 14-Sept. 24.

Several Jefferson City Art Club members are showing paintings depicting wildlife in Missouri at the Runge Nature Center, 330 Commercial Drive. Mustion said paintings depicting flowers, animals, parks and gardens make up a colorful display of nature in Missouri. The exhibit is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, through Aug. 25.
