Missouri-native country singer Leona Williams will step on stage Saturday accompanied by her son, Ron Williams, and the Deepwater Band at Windstone Entertainment Event Center, 2425 Industrial Drive in Jefferson City.

"This show is for people who like real country music and like to dance," Williams said. "If you liked listening to George Jones of Merle Haggard, you're going to have a good time."

During the show, the audience can expect to hear some of Williams' top hits like "Yes Ma'am, He Found Me In A Honky Tonk;" "I Want Some More of This," written by Glen Barber; and her newest single, "Stand Up for America."

After her performance in Jefferson City, she will head to Texas to the Ameripolitan Music Awards to accept the Honky-Tonk Female award, Williams said.

In May, the country singer will release an album featuring the Jefferson City-based band The Bluegrass Martins. Williams said it's an honor to play with them and described them as some of the best players you can run into.

Dan Hatfield, steel guitarist for the Deepwater Band of Columbia, described his group as "your classic country band."

Hatfield told the News Tribune the band's six members are all vets, and he has known Williams since 2002. The Deepwater Band can also be seen at the Columbia VFW on the first and third Saturday of every month.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Saturday, and there will be a cash bar stocked with snacks and adult beverages. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling Windstone Entertainment owner Charles Stone at 573-636-2850 or Hatfield at 573-999-1485.
