Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend the Oktoberfest Bluegrass Festival on Saturday at Shawnee Bluff Vineyard in Eldon.

Starting at noon, guests can enjoy the bluegrass sounds of Bluegrass Martins, American Folk and The Grascals.

According to Bluegrass Martins' website, the family ensemble has its roots in Morgan County but is now based in Jefferson City. Performing on the bluegrass circuit since 2001, the Bluegrass Martins have performed throughout the country and have been voted 12 times SPBGMA Instrumental Group of the Year and won SPBGMA International Bluegrass Band Championship in 2007 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Hailing from southeastern Wisconsin, American Folk is a six-piece foot-stomping bluegrass band established in 2006. According to American Folk's website, the group started as a three-piece but now includes Shawn Drake, Adam Lantz, TJ Leveque, Colby Millea, Jim Moses and Eric Nelson.

American Folk has three albums; the most recent, "Born to Ramble," came out in 2014. They wrote the Rustik Rooster Farms jingle and performed on the Blue Plate Special, which is a live radio show on WDVX in Knoxville, Tennessee. This show featured artists such as Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, String Cheese Incident and Nickel Creek, the website said.

American Folk attends loads of festivals across the country and is working on its next album, "Barn Burner."

The Grascals' "cutting-edge bluegrass" and music bonded through "personal friendships, shared professional resumes and an appreciation of innovative mingling of bluegrass and country music" has landed them international recognition, according to the band's website.

The Grascals have earned three Grammy nominations and two Entertainer of the Year awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association, as well as tons of television and radio appearances and performances on the Grand Old Opry stage 150 times. They have also performed twice for President George W. Bush and at President Barack Obama's inaugural ball at the Smithsonian, the website said.

Guests to the Oktoberfest Bluegrass Festival will also enjoy a barbecue with all proceeds going to the Missouri Forget-Me-Not Horse Rescue and Sanctuary.

Activities for children include a bounce castle, horse back rides and face painting. Admission is $25, and children under 10 years old are admitted for free. Parking is $5, and 50 percent of the proceeds go to the L.A.M.B. charity.

The event is scheduled to last until 10 p.m. at Shawnee Bluff Vineyard, 8 Tolwood Road in Eldon.
