Three local hip hop artists will be headlining a festival being held in Fulton this weekend.

Originally created as a festival to celebrate local DJs, the fourth annual Arts, Music and Lights Celebration is a celebration where local hip hop artists and musicians get a chance to perform in their own community.

According to Aaron Wilson, one of the founders of the event, the purpose of the event is to provide a showcase of local talent her in Fulton, and help artists that do not receive much exposure to have a chance to perform. There will be musical performances, art displays, dancing, and a light show will include 3D projections provided by artist LoDurr of That's Dope Records.

Wilson says that this year will be headlined by Callaway County residents RJ Randum, and ALEe, who are part of a group casually known by their fans as Moheathens. "They are two talented artists that are up and coming," Wilson said. "They have opened a few different shows for bigger artists around the state, and are straight from our hometown."

Wilson insists that it is important for Fulton residents to come out and support local artists. "These are artists that may not have had much exposure and are up and coming." The festival, according to Wilson, is as much a celebration of the local talent here in Fulton as it is of the art and music.

The event will take place at Veteran's Park on Saturday with events starting at 3 p.m. and concluding at midnight. This is a free event that is open to everyone. A detailed event schedule can be seen on the Missouri Underground Facebook page.
