Jami Wade, current owner of Capitol City CORK & Provisions, is making a career change and selling the downtown Jefferson City restaurant and bar.

Wade said she accepted a position as regional coordinator with Mid-Missouri Food Bank, a local nonprofit.

CORK, at 124 E. High St., may be closed for a short period of time during the transition of ownership but will not close permanently.

Wade hosted a "One Last Hooray" party at CORK on Friday and Saturday as a final weekend of service, serving a limited menu along with beer and wine. She said the party was held to thank their loyal friends and customers over the last eight years.

Wade said she has gotten several questions about the status of Capitol City Cinema, which is next to CORK at 126 E. High St., but wanted to clarify that, while the two have always supported each other and Wade did found the cinema in 2013, she does not own it. Capitol City Cinema will not change ownership, and Wade said the new owner of CORK will continue to support the cinema.
