Glow Skincare Studio announced earlier this month that construction has begun on a new location for the Jefferson City business.
Currently located at 1128 Jefferson St., the business will relocate its spa a little bit farther out of town, at 4901 Tanner Bridge Road.
Owner Parisa Shahdadi said the new location will allow the spa to be more secluded and calm.
"It kind of adds to the spa atmosphere, and it's going to be a really relaxing and peaceful experience for clients, without being too far out in the middle of nowhere," Shahdadi said.
Shahdadi said she decided to build a new location so she could own her space instead of renting it, as well as expand her business.
The new location will not only have more spa space, allowing Shahdadi to offer more services, but it will also include a lower-level event space.
She said the event space will be open for events such as bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties and corporate events.
"The morning of a wedding, the bridal party could come there and have breakfast, get their hair and makeup done and just really get ready," Shahdadi said.
TEB Civil Constructors will build the new location, Shahdadi said. They hope to be open around September, but have been delayed slightly by weather.
Shahdadi said the business may be closed briefly while they move locations, have the building inspected by the Board of Cosmetology and plan a grand opening.
Glow Skincare opened around three years ago and offers facial treatments and other spa services, including massage, nail services, waxing, spray tans and others.
