BizBeat: Flea market opens in old Linn school

A new flea market and antique mall opened Oct. 3 in an old school building in Linn.

The new home of Old School Antique Mall & Flea Market at 1212 E. Main St. previously served as an elementary school for the Osage County R-2 School District. State Technical College of Missouri last used the building for its health sciences program but moved out this fall after opening a new health sciences building on the east side of the college's campus.

Old School General Manager Samantha Thomason said the business' owners, Sandy and Shawn Craft, bought the building from State Tech at an auction earlier this year. The Crafts split the school into an antique mall and flea market.

"Antiques are anything in the '80s and older," Thomason said. "Shawn likes to focus more on the flea market side."

The Crafts may hold auctions in the back of the building in November, Thomason said.

Old School Antique Mall & Flea Market is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
