A new preschool and prep academy will open soon on Jefferson City's west side.
Wisdom Woods Prep Academy will hold an open house 5-8 p.m. Friday at 3219 Masonic Court.
The school's owners said in a news release they do not know yet when the school will open, but they hope to know around the time of the open house.
JMS Senior Living Secretary Cindy Juckette and her husband, Jon, will own the new school. The couple said they want to create a preschool that focuses on developing language skills in students. The school will provide a kindergarten readiness program and work with teachers to make sure students are ready for kindergarten.
Wisdom Woods replaces Sycamore Place Preschool, which opened in the brand-new facility at the same location last spring.
Wisdom Woods is hiring teachers to run programs at the facilities. Positions pay $9-$12 per hour based on experience.
Wisdom Woods will be open to children ages 6 months to 6 years old. A summer program Juckette hopes to start will be open to children ages 6 months to 12 years old.
