BizBeat: New salon open on Jefferson City's west side

A new salon opened May 15 on Jefferson City's west side.

Located at 994 Diamond Ridge, Suite 100, Indigo the Salon offers hair services like coloring and extensions.

Owner Kelsey Lenox said she felt great after she finished her dream of opening her own salon.

"I opened (the salon) to offer artists a space to grow creatively and financially," Lenox said.

Lenox, 31, began working in cosmetology 12 years ago. Work on this project in started February. Initially, the the salon will employ five people including Lenox.

Indigo the Salon held a grand opening May 17, which Lenox said about 200 people attended. Since then, she added, salon traffic has been brisk.

"Everything is going really good," Lenox said. "Nobody has missed a beat.
