A new boutique recently opened on Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City.
Front Porch Boutique at 2208 Missouri Blvd. opened June 18 in the same shopping complex that houses Pancheros Mexican Grill, T-Mobile and the UPS Store.
Owner Lisa Stubblefield opened the company's first location five years ago in Rolla. The company also operates a web store. Stubblefield said both have given the store a good reputation, which helped it get off to a strong start in Jefferson City.
"We had our first location in Rolla and have a good social media presence, so that's helped a lot," Stubblefield said. "I think everyone is excited."
The store sells women's and children's apparel and accessories along with home decor and gifts. While the store sells some children's clothing, its core clientele is women.
Although construction went according to plan, Stubblefield said, Front Porch Boutique opened initially with a soft opening because she wasn't sure when the work would be finished.
"We weren't sure when the lighting and everything would be done," Stubblefield said.
As of Friday, the only thing that remained to finish was the sign out front.
