A Jefferson City fitness studio will show off minor renovations during a grand reopening Friday.

Studio 573 sits in the old Capital 4 movie theater between Dillard's and the JCPenney salon at the Capital Mall. The fitness studio recently underwent minor renovations that changed the interior of the space.

Owner Erin Bidlack said the 7,000-square-foot space was renovated by the Capital Mall shortly before Wilson's Fitness moved into the space in late 2014. Wilson's Fitness closed in late 2016. Bidlack said the renovation divided the largest room to better use the space.

"(Wilson's Fitness) was a gym so she was completely different than what I was," Bidlack said. "There was three rooms, but one room is significantly larger than all of them, and it was our least occupied space."

Studio 573 is a fitness studio which offers classes led by personal trainers in disciplines like dance, pilates and other cardio-regimens. Bidlack opened Studio 573 about a year and a half ago and spent $45,000 renovating the space before it opened.

The most recent renovation cost about $30,000.

"We initially thought we were just going to get a second location," Bidlack said. "Then we realized how amazing our space is and how we could capitalize on what we already have."

Bidlack and her new business partner, Holly Geisler, will hold a grand reopening from 7-10 p.m. Friday. Food and drinks will be provided and give people a chance to check out the facility, Bidlack said.
